This year Clive Christian celebrates the 20 years of the perfume house with the launch of The Anniversary Collection. Two new perfumes and an exquisite new elixir mark the occasion and hero all the elements that make this British perfume house genuinely iconic.
Today I’ll review The Anniversary Collection Clive Christian, 20 Iconic Feminine and 20 Iconic Masculine fragrances.
Tribute To Its Origins
Clive Christian has created the limited edition of scents not only to celebrate the 20th anniversary but to also pay tribute to its origins from the Crown Perfumery Company established in 1872.
1872 was also the year in which Queen Victoria gave the perfumery permission to use the image of her crown on its perfume bottles.
The crown that defines every bottle of Clive Christian perfume to this day.
Queen Victoria herself loved Crown Essence, the perfume made especially for her, while The Princess of Wales loved Crown Rose by the Crown Perfumery Company.
In 1999, Clive Christian acquired this perfumery and launched The Original Collection that includes the pairs of 1872, No.1 and X perfumes.
Twenty years after, Clive Christian launches The Anniversary Collection, that pays homage to the heritage of the Crown Perfumery Company and the craftsmanship of the perfumers who create some of the most luxurious perfumes in the world.
Perfume Review of The Anniversary Collection Clive Christian
The bottles of 20 Iconic Feminine and 20 Iconic Masculine are adorned with a platinum-colored cage and crowned with a platinum-colored cap.
The cage of these bottles is a unique modern interpretation of the decorative cages found on the Crown Perfumery Company fragrances in 1872.
Inspired by 20 Iconic Feminine and 20 Iconic Masculine, the oil-based Baies Rose Iconic Elixir contains the finest ingredients blended to create a new luxurious scent and celebrate the different facets of both Iconic fragrances.
This warm and alluring woody-oriental Elixir has a 50% concentration of perfume that makes it amazingly long-lasting.
Hand-poured in the Clive Christian crystal flacon and presented in the luxurious hand made case, the Elixir is a limited creation, only 40 pieces, for the most passionate of perfume connoisseurs.
Review of 20 Iconic Feminine Clive Christian
This luxurious fragrance, dedicated to the beauty of Damask rose, has a very powerful and at the same time alluring character.
In this perfume, the note of rose is gorgeously framed by the warm and expressive accents of saffron, which bring to this scent a charming oriental atmosphere.
Plum adds to 20 Iconic Feminine a tempting and profound sound, while violet covers the petals of Damask rose with a weightless powder.
In turn, the note of honey gives this perfume a dense texture and a subtle sweetness that makes the honey nuances of Damask rose more evocative.
Heady, sumptuous, and endlessly exciting, 20 Iconic Feminine is a love elixir in the perfume bottle that no one can resist.
This perfume is an expression of the magnificent rose garden in the evening when roses fill the air with the most splendid aroma before closing their tender petals.

Review of 20 Iconic Masculine Clive Christian
In contrast to the opulent feminine edition, 20 Iconic Masculine is all about luxurious lightness and freshness.
This perfume opens with an exotic citrus mix of yuzu and sweet mandarin complemented by the luminous accents of pink pepper and herbal nuances of rosemary.
The note of Cedarwood brings to 20 Iconic Masculine the sophisticated woody aroma with a very smooth character.
Meanwhile, Haitian Vetiver that is also called ‘bourbon vetiver’ gives this perfume its tantalizing earthy-woody scent with an impressive smoky sound.
20 Iconic Masculine is like a walk in the woods, when you feel unity with nature and clear your mind of all the thoughts and anxiety.
This elegant citrus-woody perfume is your meditative state of mind captured in the most exquisite perfume bottle.

P.S. Both fragrances of the 20 Iconic pair have the concentration of pure perfume that makes them last for about 8-12 hours.
Even though each of the perfumes is marked as feminine or masculine, I find them unisex and suitable for both female and male.
