Today I ‘ll review Another Oud Juliette has a Gun, the second perfume with the main note of Oud by this French perfume brand.
What is Oud?
Agarwood is considered to be the most expensive wood in the world, which is believed to have originated from India. When this tree is infected with certain bacterias, it responds to this attack by producing a type of resin.
This resin inside Agarwood gives rise to the formation of resinous heartwood which is known as oud. Extracted from the infected heartwood, Oud oil is one of the most precious and rare essential oils in the world.
In the East, Oud has been used as an incense in different religious ceremonies, in the homes, royal palaces and other places since ancient times.
Rich people used Oud essential oil as the perfume in its pure form, as well as blended with other essential oils, for example, sandalwood, amber, musk and other.
Oud essential oil has a very expressive, deep and heady woody scent with delightful sweet, leathery and balsamic nuances.
The multifaceted aroma of Oud could not be ignored by the modern perfumery, and today we have a wide choice of beautiful and impressive perfumes with the theme of Oud.
Perfume Review of Another Oud Juliette has a Gun
Another Oud has a minimum number of notes. This perfume opens with the bright and enjoyable note of raspberry surrounded by the freshness of bergamot.
The heart of this fragrance includes the impressive and saturated note of Oud, that is framed by the molecule norlimbanol. This molecule has a powerful woody and musky scent, that makes the sound of Oud even more expressive.
The base of Another Oud is represented by the sensual duo of musk and ambroxan, that makes this perfume vibrant and very appealing.
In this perfume, the note of Oud plays the main role and almost overshadows other notes. Raspberry gives this perfume nearly invisible sweetness in the beginning, that fades very fast and gives way to the heart notes.
From the first seconds, the scent of Oud is very sharp and intense and in this scent, it is easy to recognize the woody and leathery nuances, and even the scent of rubber. But after a while, this scent becomes softer, warmer and more enveloping.
The notes of ambroxan and musk bring to Another Oud a sensuality and frame all composition of this fragrance.
