Today I review Cuir Kora L’Orchestre Parfum, the only leathery fragrance in the collection of this brand.
Inspiration
This fragrance is inspired by the sound of kora instrument and music of world-renowned kora instrumentist, pianist and singer Cheikh Diallo.
Kora is the West African stringed instrument with the 21 strings. Traditionally, Kora is the instrument of jali families or griots, who are historians, genealogists, and storytellers.
They are representatives of oral tradition, and therefore they are sometimes called the bards. Griots are the virtuosos of playing Kora instrument and keeping traditions of their nation.
Since the Kora is the instrument of storytellers, I would like to invite you to listen to music by Cheikh Diallo and to enjoy the scent of this music Cuir Kora by L’Orchestre Parfum.
Perfume review of Cuir Kora L’Orchestre Parfum
Сuir Kora perfume opens with the strong spicy scent on the leather background. The note of mango gives this perfume its almost invisible fruity tone, while Elemi gives its fresh spicy aroma.
After a while, leathery-woody accord appears in all its beauty. Labdanum gives this fragrance its deep and warm ambery scent and makes this perfume more expressive. Palisander wood with its unique spicy-floral aroma makes Cuir Kora softer, while the note of benzoin gives this perfume its balsamic and enveloping scent.
The perfume Cuir Kora is fresh and strong in the beginning, but soft and balsamic after some time. The sharp leathery scent is framed by the deep and warm notes. It is not too loud and intensive, but almost close to the skin.
This leather is not reckless and daring. Instead, it is elegant and polite. As for me, Cuir Kora is the most powerful fragrance in the collection of L’Orchestre Parfum. Cuir Kora is the great perfume for those who love woody-leathery fragrances.
