Maison Sybarite is a new French perfume brand that creates the first water-based fine fragrances for women and men. Today I review Maison Sybarite Bed of Roses and tell you more about this unique eco-responsible brand.
Inspired By The Lifestyle of Sybarites
The name of this perfume brand is a tribute to the ancient Greek voluptuous city of Sybaris, now Calabria in southern Italy.
Sybarites had a very specific way of living that was full of different pleasures, and they were very advanced for its time.
The beauty of the place where Sybaris stood and the hedonistic philosophy of its ancient inhabitants became an inspiration for Maison Sybarite and its master perfumers.
Quality, Safety, and Sustainability
In a consumer’s perception, sensory issues are often cited in the top ten reasons for a reluctance to use traditional perfume formulations.
But the founders of Maison Sybarite noticed that consumers also have an increasingly strong desire to avoid harmful ingredients and improve their environmental footprint.
It was a big challenge for the company to create the perfume that would be harmless for the environment, and that would have a good lasting and intense scent.
But the solution was found:
Maison Sybarite has decided to take advantage of microemulsion (oil in water) to avoid the most commonly used solvent – ethanol.
This microemulsion creates the symbiosis of skin and fragrance, while the high concentration level of the aromatic compounds ensures the intensity of the perfume on the skin.
Currently, Maison Sybarite has four water-based fragrances in its line which are free of ethyl alcohol, chemical solvents, texturing agents and also are cruelty-free.
Perfume Review Maison Sybarite Bed of Roses
Bed of Roses, created by the perfumer Antoine Lie, is an olfactive expression of the legend that tells that Sybarites used to lay down on a bed of roses petals, but unable to get to sleep when one of the petals was folded over.
This perfume opens with an impressive combination of citruses and spices on the deep woody-balsamic background.
Saffron gives its precious, sensual and multifaceted spicy aroma with a delightful sweetness, while citruses make an evocative character of this note more delicate.
The heart of this perfume is all about the bed of roses from the legend of Sybarites.
But with one difference: the petals of these roses are covered with the most tender and aromatic powder.
The powder that makes the scent of this fragrance a little bit vintage and brings a very alluring and exciting boudoir sound.
Patchouli gives this perfume its otherworldly earthy-woody depth that is complemented by the dry undertones of cedarwood.
Meanwhile, the note of Tolu with its balsamic and gently sweet aroma, makes this fragrance warm, enveloping, and endlessly beckoning.
The name of this perfume speaks for itself.
Intimate, tempting and sensual, Bed of Roses is the fragrance which beauty reveals itself fully after the sun goes down.
It is like the most subtle and invisible rose-powdery veil that you wear to enjoy the intimacy of the evening or before going to bed to have the sweetest dreams.
The dreams full of pleasures and in which everything becomes possible…
Notes: Mandarin, Bergamot, Saffron, Cardamom, Rose, Orris, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Tolu.
If it were a place, it would be an exquisite room with low lights.
If it were a color, it would be deep burgundy.
If it were one word, it would be affection.
It was my perfume review of Maison Sybarite Bed of Roses, and I hope you enjoyed it.
