Anima Vinci is a new perfume brand founded by Nathalie Vinciguerra, former creative fragrance director for Penhaligon’s and L’Artisan Parfumeur. The collection of this brand consists of 8 unique and sophisticated fragrances created in order to unlock our feelings and to fill our lives with the most unforgettable emotions. Today I review Wood of Life Anima Vinci and tell you more about this interesting niche perfume brand.
Anima Vinci
The meaning of «Anima» comes from the Latin word soul or inner spirit, while the word «Vinci» means to conquer and it is also a diminutive of the founder’s name Vinciguerra.
Driven by the passion for fragrances, Nathalie has created the brand that relies on three pillars: inner beauty, a sense of free spirit and being a citizen of the world.
The design of a bottle also reflects the idea of Anima Vinci. It is inspired by minimalism, zen, and the elements, while the cap denotes the heart of a lotus flower.
For Nathalie Vinciguerra, Anima Vinci is not only the perfume brand but a reflection of her own philosophy and vision of this world. It is the expression of her strong belief in the power of fragrance to change our lives.
Perfume Review of Wood of Life Anima Vinci
Created by Michel Roudnitska, the son of one of the most famous perfumers of the 20th century, this perfume is dedicated to meditation. To tell more truly, Wood of Life is the attempt to capture the peacefulness and the essence of meditation.
For different people, meditation can mean different things. It can be long walks in the woods, sitting cross-legged and settling the mind, doing yoga. But what if the right scent can bring you the same sense of tranquillity, as you feel during the meditation?
And what scent could it be?
Probably, the scent of Wood of Life by Anima Vinci, which its creators сall «meditation in a bottle».
Wood of Life opens with the impressive woody scent, surrounded by bright spicy accents. Citrus notes give this fragrance their light and refreshing sound, while the note of mint brings to Wood of Life a little bit cold and bracing scent.
The heart of Wood of Life consists of such expressive floral notes as ylang-ylang and rose, which nevertheless do not distract from the woody character of this perfume. Instead, these floral notes bring to Wood of Life the softness and sensual sound.
In turn, such spicy notes as cinnamon and clove make this perfume more expressive and you can feel it from the first seconds.
The base of this fragrance sets the main tone of Wood of Life because it is represented by a powerful woody accord. Sandalwood with its alluring creamy aroma brings to this perfume a sense of tranquility, while the duo of vetiver and patchouli gives this fragrance an additional depth.
To get the next ingredient, Michel Roudnitska went deep into the Amazonian rainforest. There he met a local community named the Shipibo. This community taught him how to use the rootstock of the papyrus plant transformed into what they called «Piri Piri».
Piri Piri with its tantalizing aroma was used in sacred rituals and to the Shipibo it was like a love potion. This ingredient and its meaning have inspired Michel Roudnitska to include it to the other love potion, that is now called Wood of Life.
And this elixir has all chances to awaken love to everything around us. Because what if not love is the most important in this world?
Let’s see what else this enchanting elixir includes.
The note of a mysterious and sacred tree Palo Santo, the leather note, which is not so obvious, but adds some expression, the vibrant musk and a little bit of vanilla for an almost invisible sweetness…
Wood of Life Anima Vinci is the beautiful and memorable woody perfume. Dedicated to the meditation and created in order to find the essence of the meditation, Wood of Life really has something very calm and harmonious.
This perfume is like a walk in the most beautiful and tantalizing tropical forest. Forest, where you can realize so many different things, and first of all, where you meet with your own nature.
Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Grapefruit, Mint, Blue Ginger, Ylang-Ylang, Rose, Petitgrain, Cinnamon, Cloves, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Patchouli, Piri Piri, Palo Santo, Leather Note, Musk, Vanilla.
If it were a place, it would be a wooden house with a beautiful view.
If it were a color, it would be light brown with yellow.
If it were one word, it would be a contemplation.
It was my perfume review of Wood of Life Anima Vinci, and I hope you enjoyed it.
