Pigmentarium is a new perfume brand based in Prague created by the perfumer Jakub Florian Hiermann. The concept of this brand is to create fragrances inspired by Czech history and culture.
Today I’ll review Erotikon Pigmentarium, a beautiful and provocative scent inspired by a legendary film of Gustav Machaty.
Pigmentarium
Jakub’s passion for perfumery started in childhood thanks to his grandmother, who used to bring perfumes as souvenirs from her journeys around Europe.
After being trained perfumery in London, where he lived for six years, Jakub decided to come back to native Prague and found his own brand Pigmentarium.
Currently, this brand offers two unisex fragrances, Ao Libitum and Erotikon, which have already been featured in such magazines as Vogue CS, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and many others.
Erotikon (1929) by Gustav Machaty
As I said earlier, Erotikon perfume was inspired by the same name film Erotikon (1929) created by Gustav Machaty, a Czech film director, screenwriter, and actor.
This confrontational silent film tells us the story of a young lady Andrea seduced by a stranger, whom her naive father permitted to spend the night in their house due to bad weather.
It was raining heavily outside. But even stronger were the tears of Andrea abandoned by the stranger the next morning.

Why do people forget so quickly?
He disappeared but left her a painful reminder of that fatal night – a child.
I will not tell you the whole plot of this visual masterpiece because you have to watch it yourself.
Let me say that this film is a beautiful silent story of temptation and seduction, of resentment and forgiving.
It is also the story of a triumph of common sense over, sometimes, deceiving feelings. The story with a non-traditional happy end, where almost all people get what they deserve.
But at one moment in this film, I have to stay a little while longer.
The moment when the stranger seduces Andrea and perfume helps him in this.
It was the perfume with an auspicious and intriguing name, Erotikon, that was given by a stranger to a young lady as a gift.

The actress Ita Rina perfectly conveys the doubts and the fear that her character experiences of the stranger for whom she is just another toy…
But who can resist the urge to own and wear perfume?
A little later that night, Andrea was finally seduced and, as for me, the perfume Erotikon played far from a secondary role in that seduction.
In this silent film, the perfume is like an allegory of a reckless passion that appears suddenly, burns bright and, in most cases, fades fast.
As well as the scent of perfume becomes quieter until it disappears from the skin completely, such passion eventually fades, and you sober up.
Andrea, seduced by the stranger, begins to understand what she has done and what consequences can this has.

The scent of the perfume fades; the sensual obsession is retreating, and the tears of Andrea flow.
It should be noted that the perfume bottles appear not only in the seduction scene but also in some other moments of this monochromic film.
And wearing Erotikon perfume by Pigmentarium while watching the film makes this experience even more exciting and fascinating.
Perfume Review of Erotikon Pigmentarium
Erotikon Pigmentarium is an excellent expression of the passion and seduction that we can see in the same name film by Gustav Machaty.
A note of chocolate with its dark and sensual scent perfectly epitomizes the power of desire and temptation that is so hard to resist.
A duo of ginger and pink pepper brings to this perfume some piquant nuances, while vanilla and tonka bean make Erotikon alluring and enticing.
The base of this perfume is represented by a passionate accord that includes amber, musk, patchouli, and sandalwood notes.
The accord that makes the sound of the Erotikon perfume smooth, tantalizing, and endlessly exciting.
Despite the presence of such sweet and gourmand notes as vanilla, tonka bean, and chocolate, it is hard to call this perfume sweet.
Instead, Erotikon is profoundly and pleasantly dark like delightful dark chocolate whose bitterness is softened by the subtle sweetness of vanilla and tonka bean.

Inspired by the old silent film, Erotikon has a very modern sound but not without the sophistication and temptation of the perfumes of the 20-30s.
This provocative perfume would perfectly fit the main character of the film Erotikon, Andrea, with her deep piercing eyes and her tempting dark lips.
And who knows, what sweet dreams would have seen Andrea if she wore this perfume before going to sleep…
Notes: Chocolate, Ginger, Pink Pepper, Vanilla, Tonka Beans, Amber, Musk, Patchouli, Sandalwood.
If it were a place, it would be an exquisite old bar with low lights.
If it were a color, it would be dark violet.
If it were one word, it would be the allurement.
It was my perfume review of Erotikon Pigmentarium, and I hope you enjoyed it.
